QR Code Scanner

QR Code Scanner

Scan a QR with your camera or upload an image. Everything happens in your browser. Nothing is uploaded, logged, or stored.

Point your device camera at a QR code. On mobile, your rear camera is used by default.

What this does

BlipCode Scan reads QR codes right in your browser, either through your device camera or by uploading an image.

No app to install. No signup. On mobile it uses your rear camera by default so you can scan physical codes; on desktop it uses your webcam or you can upload a screenshot.

Why preview before scanning

QR codes are opaque: you can't tell what they point to just by looking. When you scan one with your phone's native camera, it opens the destination immediately. If the destination is a phishing site, a malicious download, or a link you'd rather not visit, you've already been there.

Scanning through the browser shows you the destination first, so you can decide before opening it.

Common use cases

  • A QR arrived in the mail or on a poster: verify where it goes before scanning
  • Someone sent you a screenshot with a QR: read it without pulling out your phone
  • Debug a QR you generated: verify the content is what you meant
  • Extract Wi-Fi credentials or contact details from a saved QR image
  • Preview a suspicious QR without exposing your phone to the destination

Privacy

Your image and camera stream are decoded entirely in your browser using a JavaScript library. Nothing is sent to us, logged, or stored anywhere. Refresh the page and it's gone.

Camera access requires your explicit permission on first use and can be revoked in your browser settings at any time. See our full promise.
